
HOW TO SPICE FOR BEGINNERS
When your changing to a plant-based diet one of the biggest changes can be the flavor.
The fat from the meat is used in so many dishes to add flavor. Not just from say, a steak or something but in gravies and even sweets!!! Yes did you know that a lot of sweets or candies contain pork.
This is something that you might really miss. Especially in the beginning. You might not be tempted to eat meat but really miss the flavor. This is totally normal, I mean you have been eating it your whole life and this is a big change.
Adding a blend of spices will not only add so much flavor to your meal but will give you a new confidant skill to experiment with old dishes that you may have had growing up, reinvented them in a new way.
All good grocery stores stock a wide selection of spices. Don’t be afraid to do a pick’n’mix and experiment. This is mostly how I learned. To give you a head start, here I have some

Below I have 3 recipes for you with mild spicing that are great first recipes to start with. There quick, uncomplicated, not a hot spicy but have great flavor. Give these a go and then go from there.
One of the easiest spices to start with is smoked paprika. I missed smoked bacon when I moved on from meat. And this spice really reminds me of this. try it out on some scrambled tofu.
